Com o fim de aprofundar o papel mediador do formatodiscursivo na retenção e recordação de informaçãode crianças de pré-escolar e 1.º ciclo, realizaram--se dois estudos a propósito de uma pintura de Picassoe de uma visita ao Oceanário de Lisboa. Os resultadosevidenciam a importância da verbalização da informaçãopara posterior recordação e que a estrutura enquadradorado tipo narrativo é adequada nestas duas situações,pois, para além de não inibir a efabulação ecapacidade de inventar, não funcionou como distractorna observação e retenção da informação exterior, massobretudo, facilitou a retenção da informação previamenteverbalizada e organização da recordação.*****ABSTRACT****In order to analyse the mediating role of the discursiveformat in the retention and recall of informationamong pre-school and primary school children, twostudies focusing on a Picasso painting and a trip to theOceanário were carried out. The results demonstratethe importance of verbalisation of information for posteriorrecall and show that a narrative framing structurewas adequate in both situations because it facilitatedthe retention of previously verbalised information andthe organisation of recall, and did not inhibit the capacityto invent or distract from observation.
